Evan's Grill

Tonight Alex and I decided to try a new place to eat. We were tired of eating the same thing all of the time.
We drove up to Boulder City and tried a place called Evan's Grill. My parent's have eaten here before and they told us it was delicious, so we decided to give it a try. Evan's Grill is sort of like the fine dining of Boulder City. There are only a few items that are under $15 dollars a plate.
When we sit down we were looking at the menu trying to decide what we were going to eat when a family sits right down behind us. We find out that this family is there with the son who is on a date with his girlfriend, her friend, and his parents. No big deal.
Alex and I ordered our food. Alex ordered penne pasta with artichokes, chicken, and was tossed in a garlic butter sauce. I ordered fettucchini with garlic, butter, and sun dried tomatoes. Both of these dishes sounded delicious. We both enjoyed a salad before our meal, and we also had the luxury of listening to the family behind us. The son was the only one talking.....and talking...and talking. He was getting progressively louder.
Our meal came, and the pasta I ordered was bland and almost had a bitter taste to it. It was almost disgusting. Alex's meal on the other hand, was delicious. The sauce and the chicken and everything just came together so nicely. When he was finished eating, I had him put some of his left over sauce on to my pasta, and i mixed it in, and the sauce just made my meal a hundred times better.
The whole time that we were eating, the family behind us and the family kept getting louder. I'm all about family and having conversation at the dinner table, but when you can hear the whole conversation over the one that you are having, that is just a little crazy. Alex and I couldn't help but to laugh because the boy was talking crazy to impress his lady friend.
I guess it happens to everyone at some point in their life, it's part of life...and i guess it's a part of dining.
That was just one of the many intreasting dining expirences that Alex and I have shared.

The First Day

Today is my first day of this whole blogging thing. This whole thing seems kind of fun.
